Wall lights can serve a variety of purposes - for example they can be directional and in that way used to highlight a specific object, they can also be used to visually divide a larger area into two parts. Another benefit is that they can be used as indirect lighting, for instance by directing them upwards to illuminate a ceiling and by doing so, create a cozy atmosphere.
In living areas wall lamps can be used to illuminate a painting or smaller statue for greater impact. In the bathroom they can among other things be used to highlight a mirror. Using wall lamps as indirect light can produce a relaxing mood in the bedroom, and in dining areas they can be used as a supplement, though one should use a different type of lamp as the main source illumination here since wall lamps usually are designed so they do not pull attention. Some wall lamps are made in plaster and can therefore be painted over with the same color that is used to paint the wall, making them even more discreet.
